Terminal Illness Benefit
The Terminal Illness Benefit is available on all Permanent Insurance plans.
Under this benefit, if the Life Insured is diagnosed with a terminal illness with a life expectancy of two years or less, an accelerated death benefit equal to 75% of the sum insured may be payable. Full premiums continue to be due and payable.
Note that there are exceptions to this benefit, including intentionally self-inflicted injury or attempted suicide, and the terminal illness must first manifest itself on or after the second policy anniversary while the policy is in effect.
Transportation Benefit
The Transportation Benefit is available on all Permanent Insurance plans.
If the Life Insured dies more than 200 kilometers from their principal residence, this benefit will pay up to $2,000, or $2 per kilometer, to transport the body to their principal residence.
